Making hundreds of phone calls a day is painful.

As a contract business developer, my aim is to find leads by making as few calls as possible and with a high probability that they could turn into a sale. I serve each client one day a week, four weeks a month, so I have a narrow window of time to serve them. I also don’t want to waste the prospect’s or my client’s time.

For this reason, I usually spend a couple of hours building my call list and doing careful research. My aim is to make no more than 25 call attempts daily, speak to 3-8 people, and get at least one appointment. I remind myself that I am seeking call quality, not quantity. When you are highly focused, you get better results in less time.
